Eric Gordon was hired by LSU as a special education teacher last summer and he’s worked as a teacher at three of its schools since he left the school in 2009.
Gordon, who’s currently employed by the school system as a teaching assistant, was also a member of the special education staff at New Orleans Baptist University before transferring to LSU.
His wife, Karyn Gordon, worked as an elementary school principal at Loyola Marymount University.
She also worked as director of special education for the Louisiana Department of Education from 2005 to 2013.
She has a degree in education and has been employed by Louisiana’s Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for four years, according to the Louisiana Education Department.
Gordon has also worked in public schools as a student assistant and a special educator for the New Orleans district.
He graduated from Loyolas Marymount with a degree of education in 2017 and he attended LSU before enrolling at LSU.
He is now employed as a full-time tutor at New Paris High School, according the LSU website.
He also is a member at the LSU athletic department of the National Football Foundation and has worked for the organization.
His resume includes being an assistant coach for the LSU football team from 2003 to 2005.
Gordon’s previous position with LSU includes serving as special education assistant for the elementary schools at the New France High School.
He was hired in 2016 and also worked with New Orleans as a director of educational and occupational health for the district.
Gordon said he started working for LSU after he retired from football.
He said he’s been working with LSU since 2010.
LSU released a statement to ESPN that said Gordon “was an outstanding teacher for nearly 20 years, and he has a great deal of passion for the subject matter and the profession.”
Gordon said LSU is a special needs school and he hopes to work with schools to make special needs education more accessible and accessible for students of all backgrounds.
He added LSU is the only state-supported school for special education in Louisiana.
“I have a great relationship with the LSU special education department,” Gordon said.
“They work with me all the time.
We are working to make the school more accessible to all students.”
Gordon has been working at LSU since 2014, according his LinkedIn page.
LSU declined to comment on Gordon’s employment history.
LSU did not return ESPN’s request for comment.
The Loyolas School District released a list of the school district’s special education programs in 2017, including the district’s three campuses in New Orleans, Baton Rouge and New Orleans.
The district has a special need program for children with autism spectrum disorder, and LSU also provides support services to students with learning disabilities.
In 2018, LSU released the 2017-19 special education curriculum and plans to release the 2018-19 supplemental curriculum, which includes additional special needs and special education topics.
LSU also is currently in the process of releasing supplemental materials for the 2018 and 2019 special education years, LSU said.
LSU has also hired special education coordinators to serve as part of its special education efforts, according LSU.
The school district has three campuses: New Orleans to the south; Baton Rouge to the north; and New Paris to the east.
New Orleans has the highest student enrollment of any district in the country.
Baton Rouge’s population is around 5,500 and its district has more than 17,000 students.
